This guide has been designed to teach you how you can use the Cloudways WordPress Migrator Plugin. You will get to know how you can migrate your WordPress site from the old hosting provider that you were using to Cloudways using the Cloudways WordPress Migrator plug-in, which is totally free.
If you have a WordPress multisite or a wooCommerce-based website that you want to migrate to Cloudways, then this plug-in works perfectly for you. You should also note that you can actually request that the Cloudways engineers manage the migration for you. This ensures that your website is migrated successfully, with no bugs.
Migrating your website using the Cloudways WordPress Migrator Plugin
The first thing that you will need to do is to make sure that you log into your website’s admin panel. It should be noted that you will be able to access your WordPress admin panel in two ways.
The first way is to access it directly using wp-admin. The second way you can do that is via the Cloudways Platform. After accessing your admin panel, you will be required to enter your username, as well as your password.
As soon as you’re logged into your admin dashboard, you must click on Plugins, which is located on the left hand side. Now, you must click Add New so that you can install the plugin that we want to use.
When the Plugins page has opened, make sure you search for Cloudways WordPress Migrator.
The next step is to install the plugin, and then activate it. After activation, you must enter all the details that will be required. This includes your email address. We suggest that you use your Cloudways registered email address.
You should also enter the destination site URL. You’ll be able to find this within the Cloudways dashboard. You must then enter the DB name which you will find as soon as you login into your Cloudways Platform. You must select Application, which is located at the top menu bar, and then make sure that you click on the target application. There, you’ll be able to see your DB name.
If you click under the Server tab, you’ll be able to find your service public IP address and enter it.
You must also enter your SFTP username and SFTP password. These can be found in the Server tab, and this is your master username and your master password. At this point, you can go right ahead and click on the Migration button so that the migration process may begin.
If you are part of a team, it is important to note that you can also use the application credentials to migrate as well.
Once you click the Migrate button, the migration process will begin. This process will take between 1 to 4 hours, depending on the size of your website. You will see the completed status as soon as the migration is successfully completed. In order to test if migration is completed successfully, you can open a staging WordPress URL. You do this by clicking Visit Migrated Site. If it happens, it means that migration is completed successfully.
